1. You know where you stand. You are his girlfriend or you are a girl he’s dating but either way he’s not scared to define it. He’s not afraid that a girl will cry and run away if she doesn’t hear what she wants to, he wants a mature woman because he is a mature man.

2. You don’t have to prod him to become a real adult. He’s self motivated to improve on his own. If there’s an area of his life that needs improvement, he’s working on it long before you notice it.

3. Texting with him is peaceful. Sometimes you have conversations. Sometimes you make plans. But it’s never a power struggle of who initiates and who texts lasts. It’s not fishing for compliments or security. It’s simply a short form of communication.

1. Call that person you’ve been thinking about for longer than you can remember, but whose rejection you have always feared. Just pick up the phone, hold your breath, and accept the fact that knowing how they feel is better than living in limbo.

2. Go on a camping trip with a solid group of your friends, a cooler of drinks, and enough grillable meats to last you for at least twice as long as you actually need. Get really scared when you think you hear a bear, and then realize it’s just your friend coming back from peeing.

3. Learn how to make your favorite restaurant dishes, even if they don’t taste as good as the original. Learn what actually goes into the food you love so much.

4. Apply to a job that you really want, but which you know you have next to zero chance of actually…

Tired of studying

In Uncategorized on September 3, 2012 at 11:52 pm

I’m tired of studying.  Studied almost all day on Sunday.  Okay, I lie.  I studied from 9 AM til about 430 PM. Of course there were occasional breaks during those long 7 hours.  Afterwards, I did more reviewing from 8-10 PM.

Now today (Monday), I have studied from about 9 AMish til 445 PM.  And yes, there were breaks sprinkled throughout those long hours.  My mom bought me 8 packs of Highlighters.  I think I’m set for my next 2 years.  The only problem is, I may lose all 25 highlighters before Spring Quarter.  Okay, I have more faith in myself — These 25 highlighters will be in my possession til the end of the school year!

Something not related to school –

I made Cookie dough protein/energy bars (from scratch).  And because the recipe required Almond Butter (and I just finished the jar), I made Almond Butter from scratch too!

And today, I made a matcha green tea smoothie:

2 packets of matcha green tea, 1.5 cups of (unsweetened) Almond milk, a dab of agave and a packet of stevia —– mix mix mix and waahlah!

My energy bars required more ingredients such as: oats, almond flour, almond milk, almond butter, agave, stevia, vanilla extract, salt, and carob chips.

Okay…I should organize my desk!

***Doing practice quizzes are soooooo much more fun than studying paper/notes/slides…

***So sad that the gym has been closed for so many days.  It has been so hard for me to pent out my contained energy!  I did do some Insanity and jogged a bit yesterday and today.  Still not the same as swimming lap after lap or doing some sweaty stairs.

On our way to Las Vegas

In Uncategorized on August 27, 2011 at 6:26 am

About 1.5 hours away from Las Vegas, we were all in the car.  CC, JJ, and I were watching Iris (Korean drama).  I hear my dad say: “Look!”.  I don’t look and keep watching the drama for a few more seconds until CC nudges me hard and shouts to look.  As I look up, I see a silver car tossing and flipping at the divider of the freeway.  It flipped 4 or 5 times until the car came to a stop the right side up.  Before the car’s final flip, a woman was thrown out of the car and left behind while the car made a final flip.  As the car is flipping, my dad was pulling over towards the right side of the freeway, away from the flipping car just in case the car would flip onto the freeway of incoming traffic.  My mom yells, “call 911!! call 911” but my dad tells us that he can’t.  I’m confused because why can’t he whip out his phone and simply call 911.  Instead, he says that he has to park the car closer and help!  My dad quickly maneuvers the car to the site of the crash as well as other cars and my parents quickly run to help the woman that was first ejected out of the flipping car.  CC, JJ, Ate Anding and I watched in complete silence.  We watched the people helped the people in the car.  Silently, I kept praying and praying to keep them safe.  We call 9-1-1 in the car but it was busy.  I bet a lot of other people were calling in as well.  Tears were flooding my eyes due to compassion and sympathy.

In a twinkle of a second, things can change drastically.  Be grateful for everything and be sure to always wear your seatbelt and pray before driving.

Sunday Funday

In Uncategorized on August 27, 2011 at 6:17 am

I woke up this morning feeling uneasy about the day ahead of me, especially the morning events I had planned today.  A few days ago, my mom suggested to ask Auntie Sarah, my ex-boyfriend’s mother, to come to breakfast with my mom and I.  She agreed and we were to meet her at Mimi’s Cafe in San Bernardino, CA.  Because my mom and I are prone to being tardy to these kind of events, especially whenever we meet up with Auntie Sarah, we decided to leave the house around 8 AM to make sure we arrive before Auntie Sarah.  Auntie Sarah arrived 10 minutes later and we started our breakfast.  I haven’t seen her since February and I felt shy to see her again.  However, after ordering our waters and food, conversation flowed easily.  I forgot about how she would be viewing my application into Medical School soon and I forgot how she is the mother to my ex-boyfriend.  I just saw a wise women.  Actually, I was chatting with the two women I admire most.  Before the end of breakfast, I realized that she was more of a friend than anything else and it was heart-warming to talk to her; like talking to a friend after being separated for so long.

Now about the food.  I enjoyed the dish that I ordered – Fire Alarm Omelet. However, I ordered egg whites and no cheese.  My mom, on the other hand, was not very fond of her food but finished the whole thing because she was embarrassed if she didn’t.  Auntie Sarah, knowing her for more than 3 years already, ordered French Toast with blueberries and strawberries.  We had a lot to talk about!  Before leaving the house, I was scared there would be nothing to talk about with her.

After leaving the restaurant, my mom and I went to the church to visit the Pantry sale.  Our church have Pantry sales every sunday as a fundraiser to pay for various projects for the church.  Then we visited Joans and Marshalls and then I had to drag myself to Forever 21 with my mom.  Finally, I came home and watched Lipstick Jungle for many hours.
